Kinderbaby Classes
These classes are for ages 3-5. Students will
participate in a combination of Ballet/Jazz, as
well as creative movement. There will be a 2
costume fees for this class.
Dance attire: Pink ballet shoes, and any color
leotard, with or without short skirt, with pink
tights. Hair needs to be pulled back.
Combo Kids/Precompany Tech.
Classes
These classes are for ages 4-7 or 5-8. Students
will participate in a combination of Ballet/Jazz,
and tap, as well as creative movement. There
will be a 2 costume fees for this class.
Dance attire: Pink ballet shoes, tap shoes and
any color leotard, with or without short skirt, with
pink tights. Short/pants and shirt can be worn for
jazz or tap. Hair needs to be pulled back.
Modern
These classes are designed for ages 10-18 with
three classes available. Emphasis will be
placed on movement using the spine. Students
will learn how to move with meaning behind
each step. They will also learn creative
movement. There will be 1 costume fee for this
class.
Dance attire: Tight fitting clothes are necessary,
and hair needs to be pulled back from the face.
Acceptable footwear includes Bear Claws, Foot
Undies, or bare feet.
Ballet
Ballet is the basis of every dance style, and is
highly recommended to understand how to hold
your core and have perfect dance technique.
Students will participate in barre and also center
work in this class. Classes will learn a dance for
the recital(s). There will be 1 costume fee for this
class.
Dance attire: A solid color leotard and pink
tights. Students must have ballet shoes, and hair
pulled back. There are no exceptions to this
dress code.
Jazz
Jazz classes will focus on Jazz technique as well
as Lyrical technique. The main focus of Advanced
Jazz will be on technique more than creating a
dance for the whole year. Therefore, this class will
perform in the May recital only if time permits.
Based on that fact, they may or may not have a
costume fee. All other jazz classes will perform in
the recital(s).
Dance attire: Tight fitting clothes are necessary,
jazz shoes or bare feet, and hair must be pulled
back from the face.
Rehearsal Classes
This class is designed for company members to
work on their dances for competitions,
performances and recitals. These are closed
classes and only company members will be able to
attend.
Dance attire: Tight fitting clothes are necessary,
with hair pulled away from the face and appropriate
footwear.
Boys Hip Hop
A great way for boys to feel comfortable enough to
let loose! These classes are all boys, and will
focus on hip hop technique, safety, and fun!
Students will learn a dance for the recital(s). They
will have 1 costume fee.
Dance attire: Dance clothes may be baggy.
Acceptable footwear includes clean tennis shoes.
Choreography
This class will cover the basics of effective
choreography, including: establishing a theme for
the dance, style, music, costume, and movement.
Students will perform one or two pieces that they
create as a team for the May recital. They will have
1 or 2 costume fees.
Dance attire: Standard dance clothes and hair
pulled away from the face. Acceptable footwear
includes jazz shoes or bare feet.
This combined class will focus on both Jazz and
hip hop technique. They will have 2 costume
fees for this class.
Dance attire: Standard dance clothes and hair
pulled away from the face. Sneakers and also
possibly jazz shoes depending on the teacher.
Tap
Tap classes will work on tap technique, rhythms
and timing. Students will learn a dance for the
recital(s). There is one costume fee for this
class.
Dance attire: Black tap shoes (lace up with 3
screws, you can find them at Love2dance,
Nelson's School Supply, on-line, or
Maysco). Dance clothes can be a little loose but
no baggy clothes. Hair needs to be pulled away
from the face.
Adult Classes
Adult classes will focus on certain techniques
as well, depending upon the needs of the class.
We offer several levels for adults, and they may
or may not perform in the Recitals, depending
on teacher and adult input.
Dance attire: Aerobic clothes, and appropriate
shoes for the technique or style that they are
doing.
Hip Hop
A fun way to learn the new and old styles of hip
hop. These classes will be full of energy and
help each dancer to build endurance. Students
will learn a dance for the recital(s). They will
have 1 costume fee.
Dance attire: Dance clothes may be a little
baggy. Acceptable footwear includes dance
sneakers or clean tennis shoes.
